Shure Design Studio is currently looking for a Design Assistant to join our team
Job Description
We are a small, but rapidly growing interior design company looking for a bright and organized design assistant to work side by side with the principal designer on all aspects of a project, from concept to plans, to installation and to completion. This is a very hands-on position with great work experience as this person will be the right hand to the owner, gaining invaluable knowledge of the industry. We specialize in remodeling, interior styling, custom furniture and upholstery, and general interior design and décor for our clients and projects throughout the Los Angeles area.
The ideal candidate for this position is a recent Interior Design graduate with relevant intern experience who is a self-starter and able to collaborate on concepts, selections, and the management of all the moving parts for our multiple residential projects.

Qualifications
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience in Studio Designer (Studio IT), Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD and/or Sketchup, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task and problem-solve
• Knowledge of local and online showrooms and furniture retailers
• Efficient time management and prioritization of assigned tasks
• Demonstrates an adaptable, collaborative, and positive attitude
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once and maintain organized project files
• Ability to develop the principal designer’s design concept and ideas independently (and eventually go on to manage their own projects within the company as a Junior Designer)
Responsibilities
• Assisting the Principal Designer with sourcing, ordering, and tracking of all materials and items for multiple projects and client presentations
• Assisting with the creation and management of budgets, inventory, and proposal creation through Studio Designer and Excel
• Collaborate on and help prepare presentation boards for client review
• Maintain client and vendor relationships in a professional & authentic manner
• Interacting with vendors to schedule delivery times and coordinate shipping and logistics
• Authorizing payments and maintain receipts and records
• Personal form of reliable transportation will be needed for site visits, sample pickup, etc
• Assisting the Principal Designer with site measurements and taking notes during client meetings for follow-up action items
• Inspecting incoming orders and organizing and returning products/samples
• Assist with installation days and photography shoots
• Stay up to date with design trends, immersing yourself in Pinterest, following interior design accounts, and indulging in design, photography, art books and magazines for inspiration
